This year, I attended viencon. Not only was this my first convention, but it was also the first time I have ever tried cosplay (dart monkey counts, right?????). As this con had a lot of firsts for me, I wanted to share some of the highlights from this convention and all of the firsts I was lucky enough to experience.
Here, I experienced my first:
- Convention (I must say that most activities AROUND the con where better than the activities WITHIN the con).
- Trip to the ER (dislocated my arm again <3).
- Maid cafe (The omurice was alright, but the vibe was cool).
- Cosplay (I was a dart monkey from BTD).
- Malibu fristi (it was alright, I guess).
- After party (They where all really short though, and I was pretty tired ngl).
- Swimming pool rave (This was actually really sick).
- Live rap battle (The bars where straight whatever the opposite of fire is).
- Beer tasting (One of the highlights, shoutout to Luigi and the host!).
- Horror experience (Being chased by father smurf).
And there may probably be some other insignificant things I am forgetting. On to the highlights:
Highlights from this con:
- My roommates. They where an absolute pleasure to hang with.
- The neighbourhood prevention groupchat!!! (started at my house btw).
- Everyone going crazy on the first thursday and having a hangover on friday.
- Playing codenames while drunk and someone not knowing what a cycling vacation is (smh).
- Driving to the ER and passing GRUBBENVORST (future cosplay fr).
- The slidequest, especially the presentation about weird animal facts.
- Me cooking straight fire dishes with only one arm and bad equipment.
- Being the one-armed dart monkey and going crazy on the dance floor during the rave.
- Getting the coco omurice at the maid cafe.
- Getting second place at the anime music quiz.
- Tinkiewinkie Tim.
- Me and three others with pokemon autism all having our favorite pokemon be gen 4.
- The pool rave.
- The beer tasting, especially because of the whole storytelling around it (the bacon campfire rauchbier was really bad though 555).
- Sining Ed Sheeran with the burger king anime horse girl.
- All of the amazing cosplays people where wearing!!
Lastly, I’d like to give a shoutout to all the amazing people I’ve met. I’m not going to name anyone, bit if I have interacted with you, you’ll probably know I’m talking about you as well.
