“There is no complex without basic”
I was interested in what forms a good basis for my day to day life. For a healthy body and a healthy mind, I’d like to know the minimal set of things to focus on to achieve them. I meditated on this, and came to the following conclusion.
The basics of my life are:
Nothing more, nothing less. These pillars form the foundation of everthing I do, and should always be respected and upheld. Whenever I lose my balance, these are the things I need to rebuild first. The rest will always follow.
Order represents not only the fact that I have plans and ways to keep my life on track, but also the feeling that life is figuring itself out for me, and that whatever happens can be allowed to happen. Order in time, energy, contacts and goals is something I must uphold so that I don’t have to worry about those things when I don’t want to.
Whenever I feel like everything is going according to plan, it gives me a great feeling of power over my life, and a confidence in myself and my future. When order is achieved daily, I can flow with whatever the day demands of me without having to worry about things to be.
Where order is mostly about the present and the future, meditation is more so focused on the present and the past. This is the dealing with hardships, mentally anchoring myself to the now and becoming calm and at rest with my current situation. Having maditation gives me a mental shield to deal with doubts, and it allows for me to focus my mind at only one thing at a time.
The feeling of meditation brings peace into my life, and helps me realise things are allowed to go at a slower pace. When I practice meditation daily, I bring calm into my day and can always realign with what makes me truly content with life.
Care extends to all entities in my life. Be it myself, other people or even my environment and working space, everything needs care. Allowing myself to give the care to these entities both rewards me with a blossoming environment and a feeling of fulfillment. It is in simply taking care of your skin, cooking for others or cleaning up your room. All these things clean the soul and allow me to start things fresh again.
Caring for myself and others is always one of the quickest ways for me to get out of an energy slump. When I don’t need to know why I am feeling things, and just want to feel love and appreciation for myself and the world, caring for things is the pillar I rely on. When this is achieved daily, I can feel like each day is a new opportunity
Because of the order in my life, I don’t have to occupy my brain with trivial matters at all times. Therefore, I must have puzzles to keep the mind sharp and fresh. Where food satiates the stomach, puzzles satiate the mind. These puzzles can lie in all sorts of things, from actual puzzles, to difficult problems to solve to interesting new people to meet. Whatever gives the mind the feeling that it is struggling can be considered a puzzle.
Having puzzles in my life gives me a feeling of satisfaction and competence. Being able to work on puzzles is both rewarding in the feeling that you did something you previously couldn’t as well as in that it boosts my confidence in what my brain is able to achieve. When this is achieved daily, it gives the constant feeling that you can do anything you set your mind to.
Being able to create beyond yourself and outside of yourself is one of the main driving factors for us human beings. We do nothing more than wish to put a part of ourselves in a bottle and keep it forever in this world. For some people, the bigger the bottle the better, but I believe we cannot ask for more than the fact that we are able to place ourselves out there at all. After all, does a god not love all its creations? What would a god even be without its creations? And are these creations not simply themselves in others?
In that way, putting myself in others and reaching beyond what I am is method of control over our life and environment. Creating in the unknown a safe space of permanence that we can recognise as our own. When I achieve this daily, it gives me feelings of security, fulfillment and purpose.
We must always flow. Movement always exists in the physical and mental space we inhabit. Taking care of our body and mind by allowing it to move and through movement become more resiliant and powerful is something wonderful indeed. Therefore, I try to find the time to exercise and move my body so that I may keep moving my body for a long time to come. And with my mind, I try to keep movement in my opinions and thoughts so that I may keep thinking for a long time to come.
In this way, I can exert all energy that flows within me into the useful action of movement. In doing this daily, I allow body and mind to become stronger, giving me confidence in my longevity and kinetics.
