An Interesting Meditation

But not TOO interesting

“Writing is very easy, you need only let the mind speak and pray it has something interesting to say” [me]

I think interesting things are very interesting. Things that interest me should be persued. In this persuit of interests lies much simple joy. In everything we do, we hope it is interesting, and in everything we create, we hope it is interesting. Even still, things being interesting itself is quite ethereal and not easy to define. Oh how interested I am to know what is interesting.

I find it interesting to think about that I which I do not know. My interests will me to persue the things I have never done, and the thrill of that new-found interest consumes for a bit untill interest is either lost or attenuated. How interesting it would be to know what interests are lost and which are merely attenuated.

And in every interest that lasts, yet still do they go up and down and up and down. How interesting it is to see how each day my life keeps flowing up and down and up and down. We must constrain all interest, lest it tie us up and tear us down with this up and down and up and down!

How interesting still, that I do not wish to further define these interests into some deeper truth, some deeper origin. Do we not in defining interest lose all that makes interest interesting? Does not interest go from a verb to a noun? Oh how I fear for interest to go from a verb to a noun!

No, I have decided I will simply let interesting be. There must be a trust that what we consume naturally interests the mind. Let us either fully digest everything interesting this world has to offer, or throw it back up trying. How interesting but simple, that the quality of our excretion entirely dependens on the quality of our consumption! Let us turn gourmands and fine diners and gluttons and may everything interesting we taste taste of ambrosia and nectar!

In the words of the ever-interesting Steve Jobs: “Stay hungry, stay foolish”.
